New Things

The lease on the webspace is running out in a couple of weeks. So, rather than pay the money to renew it, I created a new blog on the wordpress server. My main reason for doing this is that, for a while now, I have felt that the writings on this website are too cluttered.

I am very happy to be able to pick and choose what I move to the new website. Most of these writings (besides the poetry) were written over a few years ago and I do not much care for them. I will take a few of them with me, but for the most part I am taking this as an opportunity to start fresh.

I am devoting most of my time to writing poetry now, and so that will be the focus of the new website. The writings other than poetry that I bring over will be that which I feel cannot be adequately expressed in poetry and needs a more intellectual and philosophical angle.

Although the new website is not done, I have already posted a poem that is not on this site. Hopefully tomorrow I can decide what writings to bring over and then organize them in a clean manner. The aesthetics might take a while, and so any thought or help would be appreciated.

In the mean time:

Dear Reader

.

The Perfection in your eyes,
dear reader, let it follow
these words.

Let Ken take you on a voyage
to yourself; let these words
sink into you

as if tied by a thousand led weights
and dropped from the moon.

Let them fall
to the shores of your heart
where the lighthouse sits
that calls the stars
Home.

follow closely, dear reader,
for stars are silver night ships
with diamond sails
that reflect the twinkle from
your Heart.

Mantra

.

I can hear the eternal echo
of the first sound.

There are 10,000 ants
marching across Indra’s marble floor.
Their hair-thin legs
strike the hard ground, and
it is like metal pins
dropped amidst silence.
To this, the ceiling responds
Ram, Ram, Ram.

Where my spine meets my soul
and my skull meets my mind
there is a thin wall
between this world
and the next.

Like a tennis player
hitting his ball against the side
of a building, my heart beats,
and against this wall
sounds Ram, Ram, Ram.

Starlight

.

I am in one of those moods again
where I just want to kiss
anything that moves.

I would even kiss the Sun
if he would let me, but instead
he has climbed down his own
sunbeam and nestled in my heart.

Now when I kiss the plants,
the insects, or the moon,
they burn
into stars.

This is what you
are yearning for, dear lover.
Just lean closer, and let Ken
kiss you
into who

you really are.

Wildly

.

I am a newborn infant
clinging to the Mother
for Her soft milk.

It was so scary
the first time I let go.
I thought I would fall
onto the endless kitchen floors.

But, She held me so tightly,
so firm against Her breast.

So, when I wrap my arms
around Her, I do not pretend
I am holding myself up.

My arms are now free
to love Her
as wildly as I can.

Making Love

.

Today I was kissing the plants
because I realized

they contain
all of the Universes
that ever existed.

Now the crickets play their music
and this dim candle
is slowly burning out.

I love the way my body feels
when I can hear the low hum
of the Infinite Universes
making love
inside of me.

Glass

.

I strike my hammer
to the planes of glass-
layer after layer
I shatter them

in search of a foundation
that can’t be broken.

When You Flail those Arms

.

Tell me Friend,
if I truly know
how amazing You are,
then why do I leave
for lesser joys?

Simple one,
what you mistake as leaving
is really just your beautiful dance.
Your slow spins please Me
even when your back is turned.

Just enjoy your comings and goings,
for if you had my eyes
you would see only grace
when you flail those arms.

This Dance

.

These poems
belong to us all.
They are written from Joy
and beg us to join Him
in his spinning and whirls.

Can you imagine the irony
of a weeping Joy
dancing all alone
in an empty banquet hall?

Do we not dance alone
when we look at others’ lives
and wish they are our own?

Take a good look
at the Friend within you.
He is sitting on a bench along the wall,
hoping you will ask Him
for this dance.

The Friend

.

The poets and lovers
have screamed and moaned
this Joy

since the first humans
daringly looked up
to the stars.

It is dark. There are no stars
in this sky tonight, and I am mourning
that you still have not found
the Friend.
